Laptop screens damaged by...

We've seen a huge increase in the number of laptop screens being replaced lately. Everyone is trying to stretch their dollar and opting to repair broken laptops as opposed to replacing them. That just makes sense. Because of this increase in repairs, we've learned a lot about how screens get broken in the first place.

Reason #1 The Fight
Computers, and laptops especially, have become a personal representation of who we are. I suppose that is the reason that they have become targets in fights. We've seen laptops that have been thrown (causing damage to the plastic casings), punched (screen and inverter damaged extensively, though we heard the TV got the worst of it by being hit with a hammer - ouch!) and jumped on (lost cause).

Repair Gateway MT6705 Laptop Screen

We had another laptop in for repair of a damaged screen this week. It was a Gateway MT6705 with a 15.4 inch screen cracked in a dozen places. The laptop itself is beautiful with it's brushed metal finish. It was definitely worth repairing!

Dell is a four lettered word!

I had a very frustrating Dell computer today. It SHOULD have been a simple fix. Power supply had blown and taken several capacitors on the motherboard with it. We should have been able to just replace the bad caps and power supply and move on with life.

I've finally gotten the blog to work!

If only I'd sat down and read slowly before, this probably would've been done last year! Anyway, the new ecommerce website is up. The forum works. And now I've got the blogs working. I'll let the guys know on Monday and we'll create their accounts so that we can all post our thoughts, complain about bizarre Dell case issues (here's your venue Peter), and our insights on what makes these things tick (and sometimes go BOOM!)
